2009 Yamaha VMax VMX17

The Bye "By Wire" System

Initial testing of the idea:

5/31/09 First YCC-I Fix working on the dyno:

5/30/09 Video of the first mechanical fix.

5/6/09 I have added some additional pages on this that includes actual data from Jay Gleason's runs at Bradenton Motorsports park. Click Here.

4/10/09 What you will see in the video below, I think I am the first person to have the ability to control the throttle plates of the new V-Max without the ECU going into alarm.  This may extend to all other throttle by wire systems. For the average guy, my gut feeling is that an eccentric "cam gear" driving a small gear on the TPS will be the best way to go with this. In the coming weeks, I will be attempting to electronically duplicate the TPS signal. For now, a modified small and fast RC plane servo may do what I am looking to do here without the error. I have many more ideas for this project.

I have added some high resolution photos of the throttle bodies. Click Here.
